Action ChecklistTo get started in equipping, here is a review of Eagle-Lion Institute so far: 1. What vision and Foundations have you laid? In whom? Order Eagle-Lion manual called Foundations for Christian Living by Dr. John Watson. 2. Who have you helped Discover your church? Order manual called Discovery by Dr. John Watson. 3. What Life Groups or Teams to accomplish your vision have you or will you orient, help be fruitful, help to excel, or help them be reproducers? Order manual called Life Groups by Dr. John Watson. See the list of majors for ideas for teams. 4. What times, methods, or models will you use to equip? Here is potential list of equipping models for your consideration: a. Mentoring one on one – either by you or designated others? b. Small groups in Sunday school or night or other workable times? c. Seminars such as Thursday p.m., Friday p.m. and Saturday each month? Will these be videos, local teachers or translocal teachers? Also - what is your planned budget including what fees will you charge for this service? d. One weekend a month (for instance, Friday PM and Saturday) for six months? e. Distance learning? 5. Will you do training units to progress to a diploma or simply self-study? (The reasons for training unit study include increased accountability levels, recognition provided through diplomas, progression opportunity through diplomas, and transferability through related schools.) 6. What elements such as curriculum, facility and faculty for Foundations, Core Studies, or Major Teams of your equipping plan do you have together? a. What is your vision or mission? b. What are your core values? c. What are your philosophies of music, shepherding, feeding, personal ministry and outreach? d. Who is your equipping leader (director or dean)? e. Do you understand our curriculum plan? You may add your own courses. f. What awards or diplomas will you promote? g. What is your budget? h. What is schedule calendar? i. What facility will be use? j. Will your faculty be local, video or translocal? k. What publicity are you using? Note - include recruiting one on one- don’t leave this step out! l. What is your date of start up? m. Who will do ongoing evaluation of your efforts? By whom (yourself, your faculty, your students, peers in ministry, translocal leaders)?
