Equipping Schools in local churches, what a dynamic ministry! Jesus gave the leadership ministries of Ephesians 4:11 for the equipping of believers for the work of the ministry. In the late 1960’s, Dr. John Watson watched from afar to Portland, Oregon as a local church developed a residential school and college within a local church. It was and still is a success. He felt God’s inspiration from their example. A dream was conceived.
Our vision is to provide equipping in preparation for completing Jesus’ call on each of us. This includes His calling at home, at school, at work, and in the neighborhood, as well as in the church. Some training is taught, and some is caught by being among godly people and by being under a mentor. We learn physical skills, knowledge, and Holy Spirit revelation in order to be obedient to God.
Our vision is an equipping school where training is done in a Holy Spirit atmosphere, where the Spirit of God is allowed to flow out of each heart and life. Training involves study, mentoring, interaction, and imparting. Lamad learning (the Hebrew word) involves interaction and personal encounter with Jesus the living truth. We offer general and specialized classes. These are lower cost and at an academic level where the every one may benefit.
Casses can be studied on an individual level through personal mentoring or in a classroom setting. Classes may be done for self-growth or to progress toward a diploma (using grades). The use of grades is a way to measure progress through accountability to preset standards.
Eagle-Lion is a non-academic, non-Ohio Board of Regents institution. We award diplomas, not degrees, reflecting this distinction.
The objective is not just to take classes but to be fruitful, to excel and reproduce in the purpose (destiny) of God for you in this chapter of life. We pray you will pour your gifting into your purpose.
Our motto is “Equipping people for their God-given destiny.” Our Bible verse is “present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Colossians 1:28).
The faculty consists of local Christian leaders and translocal faculty from many places. Our main campus is at Marion Christian Center, 1550 Richland Road, Marion, Ohio. Eagle-Lion Institute is a toolbox to help leaders equip their people.
