Equipping School in the Local Church

What?

Equipping schools in the local church consist of spiritual fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters equipping their spiritual brethren in an atmosphere where gifted local and translocal teachers are ministering.

Who?

You can. We will assist you by providing these tools for the local church to use to equip:

R    recommend resources to be purchased like manuals, audio and video tapes

R    recommended seminars and conferences

R    recommended translocal faculty

R    regional HUBs for equipping primary leaders and leaders in training

Why be an equipping school?

Ephesians 4:11-16 to equip your people to fulfill Jesus’ purpose

Colossians 1:27- 2:5 to bring order for preparing Jesus’ church

Matthew 5:13-16 to be salt and light in your community by meeting needs as you equip and empower, raising up leaders, plus releasing teachers to help Jesus’ church.

How do I start?

Follow the Eagle-Lion philosophy of building churches the numbers refer to courses in the curriculum:

1. Battle by praying through about God’s will for you. What is your mission? How will you operate? Who is your target? How will you reach them? What cultural and demonic strongholds are you dealing with? We offer a series of prayer courses including the Strategic Prayer Network classes starting with CC745 The One Thing to equip people in the church for prayer impact!

2. Bless people with out sticky palms. This means help people without a hidden agenda. Look for hungry God-fearing people. Look for those in crisis. Look for friends that the Lord Jesus is adding to you. Freely we have received; freely we give. Know your unique flavor. Give what you have. Share and bless people. See S801 Contagious Christian, E802 Lifestyle Evangelism or S807 Servant Evangelism plus the other evangelism courses.

3. Gather people by lifting up Jesus and being followers of the Holy Spirit. Especially gather those who are in step with you who have your spirit and are under your hand. Instinctively you will know who they are. Be slow to lay hands on to release authority.

4. Bring a settling to your church by using manuals that go with courses like L504 Discovery, CC100 Foundations for Christian Living and CC200 Eagle Life. These can be taught one on one, during Sunday School, in weekend seminars or various other times that work for you all. It is important that a key leader teach these!

5. Establishing takes place as your people become settled in:

a.   The Bible – the Global Bible studies (see Chapter Fourteen - Other Equipping section) are excellent tools for helping people become Bible friendly! These are simple direct Bible studies. Then also manuals and classes like CC101 Bible Study, CC107 New Testament Survey plus L151 Interpreting the Scriptures.

b.   Relationships – people come to a church for many reasons but they stay especially for relationships. It is very important to have a system of S506 Life Groups (small groups) for ones to be able to build friendships and take responsibilities. Classes like CC450 The Blessing and CC410 Friendship Factor also help.

c.   Character Development – becoming a loving servant is an important key to life! Classes like CC207 The Ten-M’s – Growing the Person, CC205 Search for Significance and CC201 The Fruit of the Holy Spirit help give this message.

d.     Holy Spirit Sensitivity – CC304 Ministering Spiritual Gifts is a pivotal course in developing sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Also CC302 Hearing God’s Voice and CC307 Jesus Loves Me are helpful.

e.   Healing the Broken Hearted – it is very important for the local church to function as a hospital by healing of hearts through CC451 Restoring Foundations or CC452 Healing the Broken Hearted. This is for each one to release curses, heal ungodly beliefs, remove bitter roots, renounce inner vows, and deliver from demonic activity

6. The process of Building takes place as the church destiny (including battle cry) for this chapter of church life comes into focus. See Discovering the Local Church for a simple statement of church values. In Building it is important to have a Philosophy of Ministry in several areas (please note the recommended Eagle-Lion courses for these):

a.   the style of music: S901 Prophetic Worship, M902 Bring Me a Minstrel

b.   how shepherding by feeding and being with your people will take place: L501 Pastoral Ministries, L505 The Local Church

c.   the small group system you use: S506 Life Groups

d.   the system of giving and receiving personal ministry: S401 Personal Ministry

e.   the plan for helping reach out to people beyond the church: S807 Servant Evangelism plus other evangelism courses

7. The Growth in your church is a growing in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. This happens in quantity (numbers) plus in quality. This happens individually as well as corporately as a critical mass is assembled for revival (community transformation). Transformation means the community is a great place to raise children, a place of peace and godliness and a place where businesses thrive in an atmosphere of witty inventions. This is God’s heart!

In order to have a healthy church, it requires having a relational atmosphere where people hear the voice of God and become doers of the Word and not hearers only! They reach beyond themselves as true loving servants to bless their community. This is revival.

To help this happen, we must establish Life Groups that operate from passionate Christianity with a deep spirit of compassion! Groups must start and be oriented, learn to be fruitful, to excel, and to reproduce themselves! In Eagle-Lion we provide thirteen majors to help this process take place. See the listing of majors and some recommended curriculum for each.

To bring about healthy churches there is a great need for WISDOM. May Jesus who is wisdom be deposited in you in an ongoing fashion to bring this about in your community as one of the thousand Eagle-Lion equipping schools! God is able!
